The Central Florida Expressway Authority, also known as CFX, is scheduled to start a Feasibility Study for the Southport Connector in April 2017. This project will build on the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) previous work and will take approximately 12 months to complete. Welcome to the website for the Southport Connector Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study. This study is evaluating alternatives for a new roadway from Pleasant Hill Road to Florida’s Turnpike in Osceola County (see project location map below). The PD&E Study will identify and evaluate transportation alternatives for providing connectivity and reducing congestion in the Poinciana community. The project has also been identified as a segment of the Osceola County Expressway Authority’s 2040 Master Plan.

The project limits extend from Pleasant Hill Road to Florida’s Turnpike in Osceola County, Florida. The study area is bordered by Marigold Avenue on the west, Kissimmee Park Road on the north, Florida’s Turnpike on the east and the Osceola/Polk County Line on the south.
